On Sunday, September 8 (2025) we were back at the First Congregational Church in Madison for our 17th annual Jazz service from 9:45 to 11 AM, followed by a free picnic served indoors because of the rain. The church is located at 26 Meeting House Lane. This annual event (since 2007) is free and open to the public. Next year (in 2026) it will be September 13.
On Saturday, August 23 (2025) the GJB returned to Music Mountain in Falls Village, CT for our 33rd concert at the string quartet capital of the universe, Connecticut's answer to Tanglewood. The concert began at 7 pm with Fred & Mark Vigorito on cornet & trumpet, John Clark & Russ Whitman on clarinet & sax, Jim Fryer on trombone, Charlie Freeman on piano, Art Hovey on bass & tuba, and Tom Palinko on drums. The theme was Classic New Orleans Jazz.
Butch Butterworth's 33rd annual Big Feathers Polo Tournament/Jazz Concert was Sunday, July 13 (2025) at the Giant Valley Farm, 640 Tuttle Avenue in Hamden. The polo match started around 1 pm, and we played from 6 to 7:30 pm with Jim Fryer, Dan Levinson, Fred & Mark Vigorito, Charlie Freeman, Art Hovey, Tom Palinko, and Cynthia Fabian.
